Richard C. Beasley

Richard C. Beasley, 89, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024.  He was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, a son of the late Clyde T. and Elma White Beasley.  He is also predeceased by two brothers, Clyde L. Beasley and Marion D. Beasley.

Richard graduated from Culkin Academy in 1952 and attended Mississippi College in Clinton, MS, graduating in 1956.  He then attended and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Education from MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN.  Richard served his country in the Naval Reserves during the Korean War.  He is a member of Berean Baptist Church where he served on various church ministries, and he was a member of the Shriners.  During his life, he enjoyed square dancing, bowling and golf.  He would mow the grass every day if he could.

Surviving is his wife, Frances Nell Griffing Beasley; two children, C. Renae Beasley Morales and Richard E. Beasley; one grandchild, Ricardo Morales; and nine nieces and nephews, Donna McNease, Claudia Beasley, Barbara A. Rogers, Patricia Waldon, Debbie Hepburn, Tommy Beasley, Bettye Worrell, Janet Pickett and Tim Beasley.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Berean Baptist Church.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Beasley family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Society of Florence, SC.
