Robert "Bob" Sheridan Obituary

Robert “Bob” C. Sheridan went home to his heavenly Father on Saturday morning, March 16, 2024. He died peacefully at the McLeod Hospice House. Bob was born in Berlin, N.H., on Aug. 26, 1958 to Frank and Gisele Sheridan. They moved to Conn. when he was a boy. He graduated from Quinnipiac College with a degree in marketing. He played hockey in high school, and throughout college, where he was named best defenseman one year. He went on to work in the knife and saw industry until he retired in 2020.

After college, Bob moved to Maine, where he enjoyed fly fishing with his father, his brother, Jim, and his nephew Wesley. He also loved hunting grouse with his springer spaniel, Chip.

Bob relocated to Florence in 1987 to work at Hannaco, later I.K.S. He brought his love of hockey with him, and even donned his skates again to hit the ice when a hockey team came to Florence, joining the men’s hockey league - and even gaining a new scar over his left eye. He shared his love of hockey with his nephews, Richard, Wesley, Hans, and Daniel. It was when he relocated to Florence that he met a fellow hunter, Butch Deas, who introduced Bob to his sister, Cissy, and the rest is history.

Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory: the love of his life, Cissy Deas; his best friend, Butch Deas (Ellen); his favorite duck hunting buddy, Hunter (Kristen) Deas; his favorite financial prognosticator, Weston (Mary) Deas; his mother-in-love, Barbara “Barboo” Deas; and his much-loved, and spoiled rotten springer spaniel, Beau. He also leaves behind close friends, Dr. Michael and Joan Pavy, Caslin Pavy, and adored goddaughter, Ellie Pavy, as well as special friends Blake and Lindsey Adams (and their children, Logan and Kennedy), and shrimping buddy John Early.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, brothers Craig and Frank, brother-in-law Richard Hansen, and sister-in-law Mona Sheridan.

Bob is survived by his brother, Jim Sheridan, fellow wildlife lover and fly-fishing aficionado; his sister, Jean Skelskey, his go-to medical authority; his sister, Sue Hansen, fellow lover of cooking and good food; his sister, Carol (Scott) Brinson, fellow lover of digging in the dirt and planting trees; and his godson, Daniel Skelskey.

We would like to thank Dr. Michael Pavy, Dr. Spencer Matthews, Dr. Adnan Alsaka, Dr. Vipul Shah, and the staff of McLeod Hospice House for their compassionate care.

Per Bob’s request, there will be no funeral. A grand celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McLeod Hospice House.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Sheridan family.
